Scale or Scoreboard?

Yesterday Paul put a new battery into our digital bathroom scale. At bedtime,
Joel stepped on it, and with excitement announced, "It says 'free nine'."

"Thirty-nine? Wow, Joel!" I said, putting toothpaste on his toothbrush.

He then looked eagerly at me. Not yet being able to pronounce his "st" blend, it comes out "'t."

"You 'tep on it, Mommy. See how many points you get!

Points!!! I love it and sooooooooo hear a little one saying that. Cute, Cute! I must remember to pass this cute story along to my daughter who loves kids and babysits frequently.

I get the names of people through the yahoo group Squares 4 Survivors. Most of the people on our list have friends who've requested these ghans for them, and are known personally by someone in the area. This particular lady works at the hospital and lost everything. So her co-worker gave us her name and in fact I mailed to her and she took to work to personally give to her. Not wanting to rely on FEMA trailor type addresses.

One of my first ghans for the project went to Anne. I received the nicest thank you from her. Often the thank you's come via someone in the group who passing it along word of mouth so to speak.
